Word Up Fam!
In continuation of my goodbye to the CJLO airwaves (for the next 8 months) I decided to follow up with another pillar in the Montreal Hip Hop world: Beat Life aka Piu Piu aka that shit that’ll make you go CRAAAAZY!
100% Montreal Artists Again and a dope set Again.
Ok so this was a super special episode that I’ve been wanting to do for awhile now and since I only have 4 more episodes left to do ON AIR before Say Word goes on a 8 month hiatus (I’ll still be podcasting once a month no worries) I figured it was a perfect opportunity to present to you one of the main pillars in the Montreal Music Scene… drum roll please.. LADIES!!! I was inspired by the wonderful Do my ladies run this event that J2K and Head and Hands held on August 3rd. The entire two hours was dedicated to female artists of this city. They continually impress me s I hope you guys enjoy!
NB: For some reason the archiver cut me off while I was saying my salutations and stuff but basically I was saying how much I love you guys, will miss you and that I dedicate ‘Run Away’ – Georgia Anne Muldrow to all my ladies out there who are thinking about letting out their creative side for the world to see.
P.s: YO! Can you guys pleeeeeease find my a female producer from Montreal (Hip Hopish) .. inbox me at saywordmtl@gmail.com
I’m really late on this upload guys I’m sorry but the music in this episode is well worth the wait. Featuring some new Zaki Ibrahim, Nomadic Massive, Frank Ocean, Krystale and more, you’ll be very glad you tuned in.
On June 14th 2012 I had the joy to have the up and coming group The Fusionists on Say Word for an interview, exclusive releases and a freestyle session.
Be sure to check out the radio interview on The Say Word mixcloud channel
The Fusionists Bio:
Straight out of Côte-des-Neiges, Montreal, hip hop group The Fusionists is composed of seven creative minds. In a matter of circumstances and timing, the NoBad Sound Studio members recently teamed up to create an album project entitled Shared Vision. The project originated as an initiative from la Maison des jeunes de Côte-des-Neiges, but quickly surpassed all expectations. Coming from different backgrounds, the artists decided to mix their ideas and lyrical styles in order to share their thoughtful messages and their positive vision. the result is a melo-lyrical hip hop sound through which they communicate their personal outlook on life and their vision of the world over the soulful production of Dr. Mad and TR3S.
